Job Summary:
The Energy Analyst is responsible for analyzing energy consumption, identifying energy-saving opportunities, and implementing energy management strategies in order to optimize energy efficiency and reduce costs. This role plays a critical part in supporting the organization's commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive energy audits and assessments to evaluate energy consumption patterns, identify inefficiencies, and recommend energy conservation measures.
2. Analyze energy data, including utility bills and meter readings, to monitor energy usage trends and identify areas for improvement.
3. Develop and maintain energy models and simulations to assess the impact of energy-saving initiatives and evaluate potential energy efficiency projects.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and information necessary for energy analysis, including building systems, equipment, and operational processes.
5. Prepare detailed energy reports, including findings, recommendations, and cost-benefit analyses, to support decision-making and prioritize energy management projects.
6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to energy management and conservation.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of energy management programs, policies, and procedures to promote sustainable energy practices across the organization.
8. Support the implementation of energy efficiency projects, including conducting feasibility studies, calculating potential energy savings, and tracking project progress.
9. Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy sources, and energy conservation measures.
10. Collaborate with external energy service providers, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with energy-related regulations and achieve project objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven work experience as an Energy Analyst or in a similar role within the energy industry.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex energy data.
4. Proficiency in energy modeling software, data analysis tools, and relevant software applications.
5. Solid understanding of energy management principles, energy efficiency techniques, and sustainability practices.
6. Knowledge of building systems, HVAC systems, and energy management control systems.
7. Familiarity with energy codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO 50001).
8. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
9. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to present findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
11. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
